Students visit HMAS Cerberus

The Naval Gazing program has been running for several years now. It is an industry partnership with HMAS Cerberus, the Royal Australian Navy’s principal training establishment for personnel. Each year we send schools to the facility which is based in Western Port Bay. This month we sent students from Foster and Mirboo North Secondary Colleges. The tour gives students a glimpse into life as a Navy recruit. Students gain insight into the different departments at the facility and learn about career opportunities. Some of the departments they visited include Recruit training, Engineering School, Seamanship School and firefighting training. There were also demonstrations and a sit-down lunch with recruits to learn about their experiences and jobs.
