Year 7 students start learning programming

Leongatha Secondary College Year 7 students are starting to learn programming using Sphero robots. Programming is now part of both the Mathematics and Digital Technologies Victorian Curricula. These robots are not only an engaging tool for teaching some basics of programming, but also help students to develop their problem solving and algorithmic thinking skills.

The South Gippsland Bass Coast LLEN and South Gippsland Trade Skills Alliance team have been instrumental in helping local schools with the recent introduction of Digital Technologies, providing training and networking opportunities for teachers, and providing schools with access to teaching resources such as the sphero robots, electronics kits & 3D printers.”
