What is VETDSS?

Vocational Education and Training Delivered in Secondary School (VETDSS) can give you workplace skills and knowledge for a career you are passionate about.

Every year more than 50,000 secondary students across Victoria explore their passion through VETDSS.

This is what you get from doing VETDSS in VCE or VCAL

  • A nationally recognised qualification
  • Skills and training for a specific job or industry
  • Experience in the workplace
  • Can contribute towards VCE and ATAR Scores
  • Pathway to TAFE, University, apprenticeship, traineeship, employment

VETDSS is an important component of Victoria’s senior secondary qualifications, the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).

Most students start VETDSS in Year 10 or 11 as part of their VCE or VCAL. VETDSS allows students to explore careers, gain workplace training, receive a credit towards VCE or VCAL and gain a nationally recognised qualification. With pathways to over 500 careers in a diverse range of industries, VETDSS can lead you to an apprenticeship or traineeship, TAFE, University or employment.
